Pink Heals is a nonprofit fundraising program for raising money and awareness for diseases. The color pink doesn’t just represent breast cancer, but represents all illnesses and needs within a community that can be supported by the money being raised within the local community. It is to help people fighting cancer and focus on women and what they mean to people in their daily lives.

Pink Heals holds fundraisers at many local schools and sporting events and the most popular games are with Joliet West. Many sports teams from Joliet West are dedicating games and events to Pink Heals. Girls Volleyball had a Pink Heals game against Joliet Central on October 1st. There was about 500 people who attended the game and all proceeds went towards the organization. The game was held at Joliet Central and the entire gym was decorated in pink streamers and balloons in honor of Pink Heals. Lauren Stefanski, senior captain of the volleyball team said “It was an amazing experience and I’m proud to say I was a part of it and helped make a difference every year.” Additionally, Girls Cross Country had a meet on October 6th, which 10 other schools attended. Sophmore, Marissa Baugh said “The experience was eye opening. Were able to run and have fun not just our team but everyone from Will County. We want to change our society for the better. Pink heels was a great way to start off. Cancer is something everyone is effected by and the fact that we are able to help even just a little bit means so much to the whole cross country team.” Girls Swimming is also having a meet dedicated to the organization. The Pink Heals Swim Meet is on October 15th at Inwood Athletic Club. The cross country, volleyball and swim team all sold t-shirts to raise money. Pink Heals games and events are a great way of fundraising and Joliet West loves to support.
