People travel everyday. Whether they are going on vacation or moving to a new country/state. Maybe they are going for a new job or visiting their families. Whatever the case is, everyone travels at some point for their own specific reason. Though the COVID-19 pandemic has made it a little more difficult, airports are finding ways to make it more safer for people traveling. Now, there is a recent update from the Illinois Southwest Airlines in Chicago about the requirements for coming into the state due to COVID-19.

Traveling is still allowed in Illinois but has some limitations and requirements. Before you arrive in Chicago, they want a negative COVID-19 test, full vaccination, or quarantine. According to the recent update of Southwest Airlines website, “Anyone traveling from states listed here (in orange) to Chicago, Illinois will be required to quarantine upon arrival for 14 days unless they are fully vaccinated or able to provide a valid negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival. Please bring a paper copy of your COVID-19 vaccination records or test results with you when you travel.”

Southwest Airlines require these limitations in order to travel in Chicago. If you don’t do these requirements, according to the Southwest Airlines, they state that “Any traveler that is not fully vaccinated or that does not show proof of a negative test for COVID-19, taken in the 72 hours prior to travel, will be required to quarantine.”

If anyone is coming into Chicago, Illinois, just know that these are the requirements that are needed to travel to Chicago. The Southwest Airlines are requiring you to have a negative COVID-19 test, full vaccination or quarantine. If you do not meet these requirements, you are taken back to your place and are required to be quarantined. Always remember to wear your masks at all times, whether you travel or not. Those who are planning to travel soon, have a nice trip, stay safe and wear your masks. Those who are not traveling anytime soon, stay safe, make sure you are being quarantined and if you are going anywhere, always wear your masks!
