A new environment

Every year there are teachers in the Joliet Township school district that are given the opportunity for a promotion. Sometimes, these promotions include a change in setting like changing schools. A few of our teachers have gotten this great opportunity for the 2018-2019 school year, including Amanda Ringfelt and Paul Fracaro.

Last year, Ringfelt was English 2 & 3 honors teacher here at Joliet West. Towards the end of the year she was given the opportunity to be a counselor at Joliet Central. Although she misses being in the classroom at West she says, “My new colleagues at Central have welcomed me with open arms and have made me feel very at home.” This new change has also forced her to be better with her organization.

Fracaro, however, taught Physics and math over at Joliet Central for 17 years and now teaches both Advanced Algebra and Pre-Calculus here at West. He previously taught College Algebra in Tinley Park. He is currently working on reinventing how he teaches, “My goal is to be the best teacher I can be and make teaching here at West my final teaching assignment.”

We all congratulate both teachers on their promotions and wish them a great year.
