Back to school means back to school spirit! Spirit Week will be held Sept. 20 to Sept. 24. West students and staff are allowed to participate in a theme day each day of the week.  Students and staff who dress accordingly to the day’s theme will receive a school spirit prize before school in the cafeteria. The last day of spirit week, Sept. 24, West will host the Pep Assembly during 8th period. At the pep assembly, senior Varsity athletes will be introduced, as well as, Homecoming Court, and various performances will take place. Students will wrap up the week’s festivities on Saturday, Sept. 25th with the Homecoming Game. The sophomore game begins at 11 am, followed by the announcement of Homecoming Court and the Varsity game at 1pm. The Homecoming parade will also be held on the 25th starting from Central at 8am and arriving at West around 9:30am. Clubs who would like to participate in the event should see Mrs. McGrath to receive a form.

Students can get the party started with the Homecoming dance from 6:30pm to 9:30pm in West’s cafeteria. Because of this year’s theme “born to be wild,” students can get in touch with their wild side at the dance. If students and staff would like to receive a Homecoming t-shirt, they will continue to be on sale in the main office for $10 during Spirit Week. Students can show their school spirit for Joliet West by being an active participant during Spirit Week.
