A unique element was her cinematic launch event, “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” which had a limited theatrical release featuring the music video premiere and exclusive commentary. Upon release, the album achieved immediate success including her selling 2.7 million copies in the first day of release and already selling 3 million units in its first 32 hours and also setting a new record for most vinyl albums sold in a single week. The album even has now broken Adele’s record set with her album “23” for the biggest first week opening in US history.
Magazines such as Rolling Stone rate the album with 5 stars, saying “On her 12th studio album, Swift hits all her marks — from new, exciting sonic turns to incisive storytelling”. Another magazine,
“The Life of a Showgirl” is currently projected to debut all 12 tracks in the top 12 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the album itself is projected to debut at #1 with over 4 million units in the first week, cementing Taylor’s status as one of the most commercially musical forces of the century.
