The song that started it all was his hit single “outside today”, all online people made videos to it and even a dance and used it for memes. NBA YoungBoy has made an amends following since and has only grown bigger, currently with his release from jail he started his MAS.A tour, touring 19 states but 18 now with his recent cancellation of his concert that was supposed to take place in Chicago, Illinois.
Many fans, including but not limited to social media, many students at Joliet West are also fans of the American rapper, here’s what His fans here have to say. Many of the few have not gotten their refunds for their tickets, some who bought their tickets through Ticketmaster got theirs immediately refunded while others who got theirs from resellers are still waiting to get their money back. “I’m disheartened about the concert being cancelled. It’s something my friends looked forward to since the tour dates dropped” says Makayla Hawkins, Sophomore at West regarding the cancellation.
Junior, Brandon Kentner, a student that had bought tickets to the show claims he is unhappy with the cancellation and that he had just gotten his refund for his ticket earlier on this week.
Though there have been questions on why the rapper canceled his show in Chicago, the answer to it is, the safety concerns, potentially related to a violent incident at a prior concert in Kansas City and ongoing tensions with Chicago rapper Lil Durk.
