The Morton Arboretum is an amazing place for all nature lovers, there are sixteen miles of hiking trails around 222,000 plants, and 4,100 different types of trees. The Morton Arboretum is a beautiful place all year round, but is especially appealing during christmas time with their Illumination.

The Morton Arboretum opened up their Illumination on November 20, 2021 and goes until January 2, 2022. This is the 9th year for the annual Illusion. The Illumination consists of 50 acres of land filled with Christmas lights, lanterns, and different spotlights, along with festive music.

The Morton Arboretum is filled with fun things, there is a mile long walking path for visitors to follow, to view all the stunning decorations, along the way you will find campfires with all the essentials to make smores, and different spots to warm up with hot chocolate or coffee. There is also their gift shop along with their restaurant.

Gabriella Apostolovski a Junior at Joliet West, who has visited the Morton Arboretum in past years says, “The Morton Aubreition is a really pretty place, in my opinion it’s probably the best place to go and see Christmas lights, you can tell every year they put lots and lots of effort into it”
