Halloween Kills Review *Spoilers*

Allie VanMeerten, staff writer

Halloween Kills is the sequel in the Halloween trilogy and was released October 15, 2021 to theaters and Peacock Premium with a screenplay team including David Gordon Green, Scott Teems, and Danny McBride.

This feature film depicts Laurie Strode, who thinks serial killer Michael Myers is hunting her down, leading a vigilante mob of past survivors of Michael’s attacks to finally end his reign of terror.

IMDb, a site for the general public’s opinion on films, gave the film an overall rating of 6.1/10. Joliet West sophomore student, Abby Tackebury, says, “I thought it was good but it was confusing at parts and pretty choppy.”

Halloween Kills, as the title suggests, is gore filled however, is not suspenseful or necessarily horrifying. The storyline is perpetual and worn out making the film predictable and unenjoyable.

A majority of the kills were comical because Myers would be shot and stabbed and still kill every single person in his path. Most people were expecting this to be his end however, it feels like the series is overdone and could have gone without a third film.

Halloween Kills will be in theaters until October 21, and the final film in the saga, Halloween Ends, is to be released October 14, 2022. You can stream this film now on Peacock.
