Joliet West Principal, Dr. Teresa Gibson, was recently selected as the 2016 Illinois Principal Association Three Rivers Principal of the Year. According to JTHS press release, “The award recognizes the nominee’s success in providing high quality learning opportunities for students as well as exemplary contributions to the profession.”

Dr. Gibson was recognized for ensuring the school climate is positive and reflects high staff and student morale. According to Stacey Gonzales, former colleague and nominator for the award, “she takes risks to improve student learning and demonstrates involvement in the community.”

Dr. Gibson has been with Joliet West High School for over 20 years, in which she worked her way up to the position she holds today.
